Do you really need a huge list to be successful online? Time, and again we hear that if we want to be succeed with our online business, it is crucial to have a list. But, how can we become highly effective list builders? where do we start? how do we get loyal subscribers to sign-up? and do we really need thousands of people subscribed to our list in order to earn a substantial income online?
The fact is Yes, you do need a list. The how to? is the not so easy part. However, it can be done even if you're new to the idea of building a subscriber list. First you have to ask yourself "why" do you want to build a list? Nail your answer to this question down to a specific purpose because you're not building your list just to randomly email people.
People join your list for specific reasons, so be clear about it's purpose before building it. It doesn't matter what your product, or service is, but it is important to specify to your potential subscribers exactly what it is they're signing up for.
You want subscribers on your list to be responsive to your offers. There is no point in building a mailing list of 30,000 if your potential clients, affiliate, JV partners etc. aren't interested in whatever it is you're marketing/teaching.
You want your list to be aware of your presence after they sign-up so you have to set up a system that will help you to stay in contact with them without being intrusive.
This can be tricky, but if you know the purpose of your list, and how to use it to your advantage. You will accomplish extraordinary results whenever you contact your subscribers because you will be delivering what you intially promised.
Keep in mind that it is always best to offer an incentive to potential subscribers before they sign-up. Make the reward enticing enough for them to want to give you their contact information. You also need to reassure them that their information will be safe with you.
Honor their trust, and protect their privacy at all cost. Consider it a legally binding contract, and respect it.
Always give your subscribers a clear, immediately visible option to remove themselves from your mailings. Make it easy for them to be able to unsubscribe, they should not have to wait to be removed from the list. Ideally you want to use a system that has a one-click subscribe/unsubscribe option.
